BEV'S WRITERS OATH

I will never create Word Salad … even if I’m being paid by the word.

If I am “precious” about a phrase or a word and I find myself vehemently defending it, I promise to dispatch it to The Great Beyond immediately.

I will always be willing to cut material. In fact, I insist.

I will always read my work out loud when I am finished with it.

I will always differentiate between knowing my glorious story and writing it, mindful always of my reader.

I will use my powers as a writer for good, not evil.

Every day I will back up my work TWICE in different media.

And I will never, I mean NEVER hold a reader hostage, trapped in my enthrallment with my own words.
